The World Cup draw in Russia had many legends of football in attendance and Russian President Vladimir Putin seems to be enjoying their company.
He was captured on Camera holding Pele’s hand in admiration while Diego Maradona planted a cheeky kiss on the forehead of his rival for the greatest footballer of all time honour. Nigerian legends Jay Jay Okocha and Nwankwo Kanu were among those present.
Meanwhile, in a meeting with select legends, including Nikita Simonyan, Diego Maradona, Pele, Fabio Cannavaro, Carles Puyol, Ronaldo and Ronaldinho. President Putin stated:
I would like to greet you all. I welcome you here, in Moscow, and thank you for coming.
I am sure that your support will make a significant contribution to the success of the World Cup. I hope very much that you will be able to come to Russia during the championship.
