The area around the British Parliament at Westminster has been hit by a series of attacks in London.
Reports monitored indicate that a car drove into pedestrians on Westminster bridge just across parliament with an eye witness saying he saw 8 bodies on the scene, one woman has been confirmed dead while another was rescued from the River Thames, other victims are said to have sustained serious injuries. The same car is believed to have then rammed into a nearby fence.
A man is also reported to have stabbed a police officer on parliament grounds and was killed after several shots were fired at him.
Members of Parliament and Peers where initially told to remain where they were as Westminster was under lock down with the Prime Minister, Theresa May also caught-up. She has been safely evacuated and other MPs are being evacuated.

Update: The Associated Press reports- “Police say four died in the terror incident in London, including an attacker and a police officer.”
Latest Update at 11.32pm: London Metropolitan Police say 5 people now confirmed dead including attacker and 40 people injured in attack. Parliament will open tomorrow.
