In a country like Nigeria where electricity supply is unreliable,…

Transportation today happens to be a factor that cuts through the daily life of people and that is why some developed countries happen to work hard on this part of infrastructure to suit their citizens; from airways, seaways, railways and road. Many improvements have been made in transportation over the years. Early this year, The Bubble was released by a startup, Sea Bubbles.
This French innovation was brought to reality by the founder, Alain Thébault, who formerly designed one of the world record-breaking hydroptère together with Anders Bringdal in France. Sea bubbles was designed for the sole purpose of a waterway taxi the same way Uber has a taxi service, this water car runs as fast 55 km/hr.
- Electrically powered in other word ecofriendly
- Runs on a maximum speed up to 30 knots
- Operates on a no-wake zone
- Powered by two electrically driven propellers attached to the rear skids
- Carries up to 5 passengers and a driver
- Runs 20 kWh battery pack that feeds two 10 kW electric motors
This vehicle could be boarded from the side door, then goes down into the water then while on motion rises above the water after it has exceeded 12km/h, this action help to solve the problems of sea sicknesses, sudden wave rolling or movement then when it reaches to its stopping point, it lowers gradually for passengers to get down then it waits for the next set. The hydrofoil does the whole job of push up. According to Sea Bubble they have made it known that they are willing to distribute to cities surrounded by water and recently the bubble has been tested in Paris and in Switzerland.
It is something, the Lagos State Government should research as a possible means of solving the transportation problem.
