Multiple reports indicate that former Arsenal star, Emmanuel Eboue may have contacted HIV which is suspected to have been discovered while undergoing medicals for transfer to a Turkish Cypriot side Türk Ocağı Limasol.
The health concerns began to gain some credibility when his agent Tekin Birinci, posted about medical issues forcing a halt to Eboue’s transfer on social media.
He told Goal:
“Eboue signed for a club and, as a normal procedure, we took him for a medical to check him out,” Birinci told Goal.
“They found abnormal blood values so they didn’t issue the licence and we took the decision to send him to England to have medical check-ups there.
“It’s wrong to say at this point he has HIV. Turkish news reports are wrong. I made it [Eboue’s situation] clear two days ago. Even if it will be true it shouldn’t be published like that.”
This has not stopped social media rumours of Eboue having HIV including the following tweet:

We hope he turns out negative but wish him good health whatever the outcome. He has brought honour to Ivory Coast in particular and Africa as a whole with his illustrious career. Nothing will change this.
