Networking becomes significantly easier when you understand what it entails…

So she asked me, “What do you do?” “I am a teacher but not just an ordinary teacher but an innovative teacher,” I replied.
“Teacher!” she exclaimed and then I knew she wanted to ridicule it.
Every day, in our interactions with people we meet people who praise our profession and admire our work just as we interface with people who belittle our work. Such is life. We don’t owe them the responsibility of their opinion or perception of our work but the onus lies on us to make them understand that we are not only different but also creative at what we do.
Back to that my friend who wanted to make jest of my profession, I made her ask how I am an innovative teacher and below is my response to her.
“I am an innovative teacher because I take teaching outside of the four walls of the classroom.
I am an innovative teacher because I don’t see teaching as teaching but as a way of touching and transforming fragile minds into firm minds.
I am an innovative teacher because I go beyond the usual chalk and talk, I impact lives. I impart live transforming ideas.
I am an innovative teacher because aside teaching, I write, I speak and I train”
She was wowed. She demanded a personal thing from me.
I am not saying this to brag but to let you understand one fact, the fact that separates the wheat from the chaff. It’s this same fact that separates the successful writers, speakers, footballers, coaches et cetera from others who are in the same profession as them.
Why would you want to do same thing same way many people do it? Good, you don’t reinvent the wheel but nothing stops you from adding sauce to what you do.
Imagination births creativity. Creativity leads to innovation.
Be imaginative, creative and innovative.
