Mayweather Defeats McGregor by TKO to go 50-0

Floyd Mayweather has defeated Conor McGregor in the 10th round of their fight by Technical Knockout (TKO) concluded in Las Vegas this morning (Nigerian time).

This takes ‘The Best Ever’ (TBE) as Mayweather is called to a 50-0 record which is expected to be his final professional record, he came out of retirement to fight UFC champion, McGregor.

The Irish fighter gave a decent account of himself surprising many pundits with his decent performance catching Mayweather a couple of times in the first 3 rounds although he got warned for punching the back of Mayweather’s head.

His inexperience eventually cost him because his strategy of being aggressive early meant he burnt out rather quickly and Mayweather handed him a boxing lesson, breaking his resolve with a few painful body shots in the early rounds that made it difficult for the challenger to breathe and slowly wearing him down to an inevitable end with a flurry of punches.

There may be a future for McGregor in boxing but the night belongs to Mayweather who may well and truly be the best boxer that ever lived.
