Former Barcelona football star and current captain of the Mexico national football team, Rafael Marquez, is currently embroiled in drug scandal, according to BBC reports.
The 38 year old star defender was named by United States treasury department as having ties with drug lord, Raul Flores Hernandez. Marquez and 20 other people are said to have been fronting for the drug baron through his football academy.
The footballer, who played for Barcelona between 2003 and 2010, winning 4 La Liga trophies, has however denied the allegation and has promised to cooperate with the US authorities during investigation.
