Former governorship candidate for the Accord Party in the 2014 governorship election in Ekiti State, Barrister Bankole Ajayi has died. Popularly known as “Abere mi lokun nidi”.
He died while on his way to Lagos. Ajayi was said to have suffered from a heart attack. A lawyer by profession, until his death he was a staunch supporter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Dr Kayode Fayemi for the July 14th governorship election.
Ajayi posted on Facebook less than 24 hours ago writing: “Where was America when Koro, Tko, Omisore, Oshoko and Captain Koli invaded Ekiti with the Nigerian Army to thwart peoples’ votes? Gba fun gbada nile ni gbafun gbada loko. He who comes into equity must come with clean hands. JKF ti daraba”.
That post has been flooded with tributes from friends and associates as they mourn his loss.
One Otunba wrote: ” You left home strong , but did not come back home again, what a painful exit, may God strengthen and console those left behind.”
This is definitely a blow for the APC as it seeks to wrestle power in the forthcoming election governorship election in Ekiti State.
