Just 2 years after a huge explosion killed scores in…
President Muhammadu Buhari has sacked the suspended Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal and the Director General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ayodele Oke. This was revealed in a state house press release signed by Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity.
The release states:
President Muhammadu Buhari has studied the report of the panel headed by the Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo (SAN), which investigated allegations against the suspended Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, and the Director General, National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ayodele Oke.
The president accepted the recommendation of the panel to terminate the appointment of Mr. Lawal, and has appointed Boss Mustapha as the new Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
The appointment takes immediate effect.
President Buhari also approved the recommendation to terminate the appointment of Mr. Oke, and has further approved the setting up of a three-member panel to, among other things, look into the operational, technical and administrative structure of the Agency and make appropriate recommendations.
Nigerians are now calling for the prosecution of the 2 men, saying their sack is not enough:

Good move by the President but sacking Babachir Lawal will not bring back the stolen funds. He should be arrested and prosecuted.

Buhari should take it further by sacking the AGF immediately. In addition, both Ayo Oke and Babachir should be arrested and prosecuted. https://t.co/K39jJoXiw5
