Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari said he did not discuss America’s President, Donald Trump’s alleged vulgar remarks about African countries when the 2 leaders met today at the White House.
Buhari is the first sub-Sahara African president to meet Trump at the White House on a state visit.
When asked about whether he raised the issue of Trump’s alleged vulgar comments about African countries at the Rose Garden of the White House Buhari replied:
‚ÄúI am not sure about the validity or whether that allegation against the President was true or not, so the best thing to do for me is to keep quiet,‚ÄĚ rather diplomatically.
Trump also weighed in on the matter:
‚ÄúYou do have some countries that are in very bad shape and very tough places to live in. But we didn‚Äôt discuss it because the president knows me and he knows where I‚Äôm coming from.‚ÄĚ
