Adetunwase Adenle: The Nigerian with 4 Guinness World Records

That Nigerians are an enterprising people is not in doubt as we have many of us doing great things around the world.

However, we do not think we have many who can boast of 1 Guiness World Record not to talk of 4 which is the case with Adetunwase Adenle. He is the only Nigerian who has achieved the amazing feat of breaking 4 Guinness World Records.

The class room teacher and artist holds Guiness World Records in the following categories:

1. The World’s Largest Painting by Numbersg2 Adetunwase Adenle: The Nigerian with 4 Guinness World Records

 

 

This painting is as big as a football field. It measures about 63.5m x 49.3m and was painted by 350 volunteers. This painting represents the map of Nigeria.

2. Most Children Reading aloud with an AduIt

This feat was achieved in commemoration of 2011 World Literacy Day with the support and cooperation of the then Deputy Governor of Lagos state, Mrs. Adejoke Adefulire Orelope.

3. The Highest Number of Children Washing their Hands at the same Time

This was done to educate children on how to be clean at all times so as not to contact diseases which is a very important lesson in preventing epidemics like Ebola and Lassa fever. This third record was achieved in partnership with Unilever’s lifebuoy soap.

4. The World’s Biggest Post Office Stamp

This was used to celebrate Lagos at 50. Adetunwase Adenle worked with Lagos state government, some organisations and NGOs to make his records happen and also to make sure that the children that worked with him to make his paintings a success will benefit from his projects.

Adetunwase currently lives in Lagos and is determined to break more records so as to touch the lives of people and also make his country Nigeria proud. He has expressed his willingness to continue using his paintings to educate kids and make history in the process.
