Alexis-Sánchez 3 Ballon D'Or Nominees That Should Make Way for Sanchez

Here are 3 players on the list that Sanchez was better than in 2017 [2017 starts from September 2016, immediately the nomination for 2016 Ballon D’or was announced and about the same time leagues started for the 2016/2017 season]:

  1. Karim Benzema: Yes, Madrid had a fantastic season, but not because of Benzema. In fact, the season might not have been any different if Benzema did not touch the ball in Madrid in the year. Benzema scored 19 goals in 48 games for Madrid in 2016/2017, Sanchez netted 30 in 51. He didn’t even play for France in the year.
  2. Sadio Mane: Sadio Mane was very fantastic for Liverpool in 2016/2017, and he deserves to be there. But he did not do better than Sanchez in the year. Arsenal ended the season as 4th on the EPL log, one step ahead of Arsenal. Unlike in Liverpool where Sadio was not the only payer that had great seson, Sanchez was the only player that had great season in Arsenal. So if he is on the list, Sanchez should also be on the list.
  3. Kevin De Bruyne: The Belgian attacking midfielder had a fantastic 2016/2017 season but not better than Sanchez in the same period.
